Codebreaker teaches children to create mnemonic devices or symbolic representations to help them remember where the characters are hidden on the board. Creating symbols is the foundation of math, especially algebra, and language.
Limit the types of coded reminders students may use in the game: For example "Students, you may only use reminder codes that somehow relate to mathematics (or to a particular historical period, or to living things, etc.)
Suggest that students apply the reminder system they learn while playing Codebreaker while studying for a core subject test, such as science, English, or history!
